​​My name is Sam. I am sometimes an artist, sometimes a musician, often a temp, and sometimes even a web designer. My love for science fiction started with T.V. I was obsessed with Star Trek and Babylon 5 as a child and found books like Dune and the Hyperion series in my teens and never looked back. Science fiction allows us humans to look at what makes our lives meaningful through a fantastical lens and gives us the space to see complex things more clearly. The Dune series is still my favourite, which is apt as the planet Arrakis, where the books are set, is an amazing portrait of an exoplanet where the ground beneath the characters feet is presented as a character in the story. I wouldn’t want to live there though…
