Katarina Karasekova:
Hello, my name is Katarina and I am from Slovakia and my mother tongue is therefore Slovakian. You may not realize it but I am sure you know at least one Slovak word, which is widely used today. It is the word robot (coming from the Slovak word robota, which means work). It was first used by the writer Karel Čapek in his 1920 sci-fi play R.U.R. and since then it made its way into our daily language. I am an undergraduate student of Sustainable Development and in my free time I dance Ballroom and Latin dances and I also love to learn new languages. I’ve been learning English since the age of 6, I started learning French at the age of 15 and a couple of months ago I started learning Spanish.
